how to clean up my cb signal???

I just installed my cb into my truck....orginally had it in my car...same exact setup....It seems to be making alot of noise such as a static noise when hitting the locks or anything electrical in the car...also makes noises when on gas(prolly fuel injectors)....has anyone else had trouble getting their cb to sounds clear in the rangers.....or if anyone has any suggestions for me please let me know....thanks

If you search i think someone had a thread of fixing that but i forget what he did.....but how is your CB wired? sometimes it sends stuff through it when its wired to the cig lighter, so i wired mine strait to the battery (which helps you get out further anyways) what CB and antenna are you running? Did you turn the squelch down so you dont pick up any static?

well yes, i do have it into the cigarette lighter...i know that battery teminal is the proper way but i thought it might work becuase it worked in my grand am flawlessly....antenna wise i installed an antenna i had for a few years on the roof...mag mount....and then ran the wire through the tail light above the rear window and down under the door jam and eventually to my center console where i have the cb mounted...never got this much noise when i had it wired like this in my grand am...i get noise from my doors locking and everthing electrical pretty much...the cb is a midland...i dont really know what kind ...its a few years old...stuff was all given to me

Normally once an antenna wire is cut you lost all signals to get out more than 1 mile...

I had alot of noise in my ranger on 3 different cb's and 2 different antennas

engine off = 0bars signal(static)
engine on was 3 bars (4 bar scale) of static.
It was wired direct to battery.

Cutting it can be done but you need to retune the antenna for proper SWR. You need a meter to do this.

Cutting it can be done to shorten it, but the end needs to be put on right....Tuning it wont do anything if the center cable isnt attached right....
