you can wire them to the light that is in the mirror if you have one, because youll loose the light when you put them in. and for the video source, just run a video wire up the a-pillar to the screen. if your lucky, you can get the wiring right and have the screen turn on when you fold down the sunvisor like the mirror lights do.

I installed 7"ers in both my visors (biggest that would fit) I had to pick up a set of Explorer Lighted Visors to do the install properly (Explorer Visors are thicker, so there is more depth for mounting, and they generally have the "auxillery" visors with em, which I didnt use, which created more room to 'fold up' the visor without the lcd bezel getting in the way )
I took off all of the material covering the visors, dremeled out the hole where the lcd's were to go, and then had the visors and headliner reupholstered. Once that was done, I cut slots in the newly upholstered visors and installed the lcds. I ran power and video down the passenger side a-pillar, with the video splitter hidden behind headliner at the top of the pillar, so i only had to run 1 video cable from the a pillar to my dvd player under the passenger seat. I ran the power wires down the a pillar and placed the fuses for both visors behind the passenger-side kick panel, for easy access. I then ran the power wires to my sub enclosure, where I have my remote turn-on relay, and hooked em up to that.

see pic above. theyre kinda crappy cuz i took em in a hurry, but you get the idea :o)
Audiovox DVD Player - $75 with shipping
Pyle 7" LCD Screens - $140 each with shipping
Wiring, Including Video Cable and Splitter - Around $20
and in case you decide to go all out and get everything reupholtstered,
Visor Upholstery - $36 per visor
Headliner Upholstery - $80
Upholstery Material - $70 (Factory Ebony Twill)

well the lcd's i got had a power wire coming out of em. I extended that wire (for both lcds) down the passenger-side a-pillar into the lower passenger kick panel. I wired up the fuses for both lcds behind the kick panel for easy access. I then merged the two power wires into 1, and ran that wire to the relay for my stereo's remote turn-on lead (when the radio is ON, the remote turn-on lead energizes the relay, and the relay switches over to constant 12v, which I ran directly from the distributon box in the engine compartment.)
if im still being vague about something, let me know ;o)

onyour alpine, i doubt the remote turn on is red. its more likely blue/white stripe. if that is the case, you'll want to do this:
so you'll hook up your stereo's remote turn on lead to terminal 86 on the relay. connect terminal 85 to a ground, terminal 87 to a constant 12v (you can either run a new wire from your battery, or tap into a good existing 12v constant) and you'll connect the power wires of your lcd screens to terminal 30.
EDIT: and yes, you should have a fuse for EVERY accessory you decide to power off terminal 30. The accessories arent actually running off the deck's power at all. The relay switches over and provides any accessory connected to terminal 30 with the 12v power coming from terminal 87.
let me know what you need clarification on :o)

if you arent familiar with relays, you can pick em up at your local automotive or electronics store. You want a SPDT (single pole double throw) relay. It's basically a little black box thats about 1" cubed with 5 connectors coming out the bottom. The connectors are generally labeled with the numbers you see in the above diagram (85, 86, 87, 87a, 30) so figuring out what to connect to what isnt that difficult. Anyways, youre going to need one. Theyre a couple bucks a piece. The whole reason you need the relay in this situation is that the remote turn-on lead from stereos are VERY low power. So, if you were to connect your lcd screens directly to it, along with the remote turn on for the amp, you'd probably overload it and blow the fuse on your deck. What the relay does, is uses the remote turn-on lead as a trigger to switch over to a *real* 12v power source that CAN handle the load.
ok. so right now the remote turn-on from your stereo is connected to the MTX amp (i'm assuming) This is the wire that you'll be using to trigger the relay that will be powering your lcd screens.
you can either tap off this wire and run the tap to terminal 86 on the relay, or you can do it the right way and wire the remote turn-on lead directly to terminal 86 INSTEAD of running it to the amp where it currently is. Now you can chose to wire the relay right by the amp's current location, or you can wire it behind the dash. its really up to you.
next, youre going to run a wire from terminal 85 to a ground point in your car.
next, youre going to run a wire from terminal 87 to a good 12v source. Like I said earlier, mine is running from the distribution box in the engine compartment to the relay in my cab. You can use that location, your positive battery terminal, or you can try tapping into an exisitng 12v source inside the cab. I'd recommend running the wire straight from the battery or distro box though, as if you tap the wrong wire inside the cab, you could potentially overdraw that particular circuit and blow fuses all day long, or worse yet, fry your wiring harness. this wire should have an inline fuse somewhere along it.
at this point, youre almost done. now youre going to connect MULTIPLE things to terminal 30 on the relay. These will include a wire going from terminal 30 to the remote turn-on on your amp (the same place that the original remote turn-on lead went to, before you disconnected it from the amp and connected it to terminal 86 on the relay). This is also where the power wire(s) for your lcd screens will be connected.
You wont be using the center terminal (87a) at all.
EDIT: Also... the remote turn-on lead for your deck model is blue/white stripe. if whoever installed your amp extended it from the deck, it might not be blue/white stripe at the amp... dont let that confuse you :o) If YOU installed the amp, then you should already know which wire i'm talking about that you'll need :o)
