where to mount tweeters

Did some searching and im not happy, i read a nice long arguement on RPS about the best place to mount these, and i was hoping you guys had some clever input. the components are ALPINE sps-171A its pretty common to mount them in the A pillar, I'm not trying to be original i have just read that they may cancel eachother a bit aimed at themselves.... what do you guys think would be the best place to mount them for SQ not looks

ps the midbass is gonna stay in the stock location that wasnt clear

I didn't do it in my ranger, but my friend did it in his Accord and the spot is very similar, and it sounds great. Don't put it on the a-pillar. This spot points toward the riders, it's direct but sounds great, and you can hear both left and right from either driver or passenger. Its a suggestion, I run with SQ also. With flush mount they look great.

this pic is from another member's post, but i put the gray dot where I mention to put it.

perfect. luckily the windshield's reflection isnt too bad, so with a little tuning and imaging, they worked out great!

i have mounted mine on the door, where the mirror adjustment parts would go if they were manual. I got a tweeter kit from a brand named rampage, and they've got some pretty cool round, angled 45 degree pieces that mount to the door, then the tweeter mounts to them. that way they face right at you, works great.

i've never had components before just a couple of two way or three way speakers, what does it take to tune them and image them, and theres nothing that will be in teh way of flush mounting them in the spot from that first pic above is there?

i did mine exposed on display on my amp deck in the rear, but this time around on my new box, they'll be hidden for now. later on, when i change things around in the winter, im going to do something a bit different, and have them mounted somewhere again.

Mine are hidden, I got some heavy duty 3M double sided tape and stuck each one to the inside of the door.

I have my crossovers hidden in my explorer console. Here's where I mounted them just so I could use them until my "overhaul". I still need to get most of my speakers though.

They don't sound that bad in this spot, but i'm sure having them up where strider said would be much better.

If you were a true audiophile wanting nothing but perfection you would place them within about 6 inches (or approx. 1 wave length) from the midrange they will be paired with for proper imaging. Placing then anywhere else is purely for volume as they are not going to be blocked as much.

thats why mine are where they are. they're measured out to as close as possible for my system

All this tuning is being done with your headunits? Are you tuning so that everyone hears great sound or are you tuning towards just the drivers seat?
