XM-Commander
I've gotten a couple of questions about my XM-Commander, so I snapped a few quick and dirty pics of my mount.
First off, heres the unit itself:
The signal is not so hot in my garage.. no surprise since my cellphone doesn't work well in my garage either. Damn lead paint from the space-race era!
Heres how I mounted it with an old Ford CD Changer bracket and some 3M double-stick tape:
You can see my crappy "Ford Racing" hat that I wear for work on the passenger seat.
Heres the antenna, coming out through the 3rd brake-light. Some weekend I might pull it off and paint the antenna red w/ some Duplicolor, bot for now its ok.

looks good, iw as going to get the commander but my pioneer deck had the controller built in. go figure.
i like hwere you have your antenna, mine is on the roof above the windshield but im going to move it back to where yours is this weekend if its dry enough, on a truck like mine, it wont be seen there at all. good idea to paint it too.

Yeah on the new F150 the 3rd brake light is the PERFECT place to mount it.
