2 to 4 Speakers

Just wondering how hard it would be to wire up 4 speakers instead of my two stock speakers in my 04 reg cab....I want an aftermarket head and speakers, just what am I getting myself into? Will I benefit with the extra 2 speakers behind the seats....Will I hear them?

mine has em factory and Yes you do hear them its like surrround sound. it would be easy to run the wires from an aftermarket headunit under the carpet.

its the opposite of surround sound, in a home theater setup rear speakers play sound thats meant to come from behind you (like backround noises in movies). in a car they play the same as the front since cds are recorded in 2ch audio. Rear speakers are pointless in trucks, other than suvs i will never run rear speakers. It just destroys any kind of imaging (trying to make the music sound centered or higher in the vehicle). if you just want your music louder and dont care if music sounds like its coming from in front of you (which it should) then go for it.

i just added rear speakers to mine a few months ago the seats muffel the sound a bit but still sounds good FYI i dont know about your truck but in mine they only ran the rear speaker wires from the stereo to under the driver seat to a little plug then i hade to run wires from there back if you remove the rear speaker grills and there is no wires pull your driver seat pull up the carpet and look for the plug

Yeah..the seats do muffle on reg cabs, but adding speakers does help a lot in the sound department. I say do it.

some trucks have the wires back there, others don't. On my brother's 01, we had to run new wires to the speaker area because the wires wern't there.

ive found that in my 04, i never hooked up the rear speakers, just ran a sub back there and it sounds awesome. my 98 had rear speakers, and actually had the same headunit, sub, speaker combo, and i cant tell a difference in sound between the two trucks.

yeah i have rear speakers stock, and I usually fade it so most of the audio comes from the from speakers.
