Adding a Power Mic?

It's probably a mini Cobra (I don't know the models well), so the mic amplifier would be inside the mic and not in the receiver unit. Should check for some reviews on a couple CB mod sites and check their opinion/alternatives, or at least check what the OEM mic output is.

I don't plan on using it much for other than trails, but if I'd like to talk on the highway or something, I'd like a little power. The radio is only pushing about 7watts alone.

Yeah that radio is killing you...
My cobra 29ltd (basic radio)
was putting out 11watts..
Got it peaked and tuned and Im now putting out 60+ watts... So if your really looking to talk to people and get out better i would just upgrade the radio.. can normally pick the cobra 29's up for about 75-80, and a max tuned one for about 140...
