kick pannel question

first, are their pre made kick pannels avalible for the rangers... 06-07 models...
and second, if installing a 5.25 component set, would i need to put some fiberglass resin or something inside the enclosure to stop any resonace(sp)?

check crutchfield.com for the kick panels. im sure they make they for the 07's. and not sure if u would need they fiberglass or not. wouldnt be a bad idea

p.s.- i know that u have to bend the e-brake pedal so the driver's side kick panel will fit.

The kick panel part numbers show that they fit up to 2001 or 2000, but I think they actually fit all years of the new gen... anyone confirm that?

Good luck on the passenger side of 2004~2007. There is a bunch of electronics under that bulging PS kick panel. If the panel could be extended far enough to accommodate a speaker, a good portion of the footwell would be gone.

the speakers im looking to get for the kick pannels are slim speakers. and have a very small mounting depth...
if anything, ill make a speaker pod over the transmission hump with the components... woould having the speakers mounted there have any ill affects on the sound ?

so no ill affects?
would it be better to have the speakers pointing opposite ways 1 toward the driver and 1 toward the passenger? or just straight back, up, angled up, ect ect...

for best possible sound point 1 toward the driver and 1 toward the passanger. midrange might get harsh but other than that i see no ill effects. i personally would skip the kick panel and tranny hump speakers and just go for an in dash center channel speaker. it would be a cleaner install and u wouldnt have to make anything.

the 3 way component would be sweet. clarion makes a center channel speaker that is half din size so it should fit above a din sized stereo in our trucks. there are a couple of guys on here that got a double din unit to fit in the dash and that would be cool cuz u can get alpine's din sized center on top of a din sized head unit. but if u got the time and u want something unique then i say go for it. 1 8" 6.5" and a tweeter in the door or whatever.

ya well my friend said his friend pat, who i am an aquiantence(sp) with will fiber glass my doors for abour 400bux for the pair... so im going to go that route.
if i can still get a deal on focal speakers, i am going to get the K2 series 6.5 componets with the 6.5 woofer, and run 2 JL 300/2 amps if my boss can pull some strings with stereo ppl he knows
but if the plan with focal doesnt work ill most likely run 2 sets of 6.5 components or 1 6.5 and a 5.25... so hopefully ill have the doors fiberglassed after spring break

deffinately, once i get ahold of him and agree on a design and such, it should only take him about 2-3days start to finish and then probally have to send the pannels to my buddy in louisiana to have em covered.

are they open on sundays? i work mon-sat. usually get off at 3 saturdays...
if he could give me the discounted prices like they are at texas heatwave i would deffinately be down! haha
im gonna talk to my boss tomorrow and see if he has connections with the manufactuer direct or distributors directly.

im thinkin a focal 3way in the doors callin it a day, b/c even at retail price, it comes out to about the same as 2 sets of 6.5 components and then i could run the JL 300/2 amp and call it a day
