Speakers rattle window crank *****.

I have manual windows and the crank ***** rattle with just about every really deep bass note. Turned the bass down to eliminate as much vibration as I can, yet still enjoy the tunes, but that only helps a little.

Anyone used some kind of yarn or something like that to stop the rattle, yet still allow **** to roll easily when opening/closing window? Ideas?

I thought about nylon washers, or similar. Never found any, though. Your yarn idea made me think of felt washers... I have some for my cymbals but they're a little thick. Might work with careful application of a razor blade.

Other than that, turn it up loud enough to drown it out. Or hold it with your knee.

you can always move it so its not sitting in front of the speaker or dose it still make the noise?

Thats what I did on mine, took some felt with a self-adhesive back and cut it so it fit. It helped a little but the main noise was from the **** turning when the bass hit. I never could find away to make it go away other than buying a new truck lol

Mark, it rattles no matter the position of the handle. The speaker just vibrates the door too much, and the handle just sticks out there resonating away.

I might try some thin felt pads you put on lamp bottoms and things to keep from scratching furniture. I'll hole punch it and slit it, but keep the peel off slick paper intact for rotation.

I had the same problem, I did like you said and took some yarn, tied a few loops and pulled it tight to suck it in and hide it. I did it both between the crank and **** and between the crank and door panel. It helped it out at first, but i guess the yarn is wearing away and packing together and its starting to buzz again a little bit, but not as bad as it did.

I had the same problem but then I installed a sub and I haven't heard them rattle since. Expensive solution, yes, but it solved the problem and sounds better too!

Small diameter black elastic hair bands, they're low friction and won't bind up. Works for me.

Yup, I solved mine by getting a sub installed in the truck! Sounds much better now.

Mine used to rattle too, before I put the sub in. Now, I can't tell. lol. If the **** that rotates on the handle is pretty loose, I suggest looking into buying brand new window crank handles. I think retail is about $10-15 each straight from Ford. I did mine a few months back and love the tight handle now.

I want a thunderform to put behind my seat, that would solve the problem better than yarn or rubber bands.
Are there any aftermarket cranks that will fit? Some black billet ones would be very nice!!!
