2 ohm vs 4 ohm...

im not a a/v guy but ohms is basically resistance your 12 volt system has. your amp has less resistence and more power at 2 ohms, hence the higher wattage, so you have more power to use for your sub from your amp. if im wrong im sorry, im jsut going with what i think is right. aand it depends on the brand and size and model and all that. it helps if you hear them play before you buy obviously.

Im not sure but i think that there is a little bit more to it then just pulling more watts from the amp...
I can't remember, but i think its recommended you run a dual voice coil 4ohm sub wired in parallel (2 ohm) would be best if you are trying to run at 500w. and a single coil 4ohm if your going to only pull the 300w.
You may want to look into it before you buy. jfyi
i may have read that on crutchfield.com not sure...

not sure if this thread is dead or not but i have JL 10W6v2 and it pounds harder and louder than any multiple sub system using 12's i've ever had. i have it in my F150 now but when it was in my ranger it was borderline rediculous. this being said, go for quality not quantity.

If you stop by local stereo shops and look around online, you can usually end up finding a killer deal on them. Like NIB last year model closeouts, etc...
