New system?

I want a new sound system for my 03 ranger, I don't have that deep of pockets. I want a head unit that i can plug a mp3 player into. I was thinking of using maybe two 8 inch torpedo subs behind the seats, it is a reg. cab so i'm pushed for space. Should i get a capacitor for the Amp? what kind of Amp? best Brands? any imput would be nice thanks.

wow thats alot of stuff to list. My signature contains good stuff. I guess i will create a list.
Wiring-KnuKonceptz.Dont waste your money on anything else.

Subs-If your on a budget I dont know lol. I would go with 10s though. They wont waste much more space and they give you more options. Look at Kenwood, Alpine type E, Rockford Fosgate P2s. If you wanna live a little go with TC Sounds, RE Audio, FI Audio. It all depends on what your looking for. do you like Sound Quality or SPL? SPL=Really LOUD BTW Just massive bass.

Amplifier-I would go with Hifonics, US amps if you want to spend a little. If not then Kenwood is a good start. This all depends on the subs you pick also.

Deck-Any player could be rigged up for MP3 player. As long as it has more than one output set. Alpine 9856 is what i have and Play my PSP through it. Pioneer is also a good name.

Cap- YOU DONT NEED ONE!

2 10 inch subs will fit behind the passenger seat if you build the box right. The amp will go behind your seat. I currently have 2 TC Sounds db-500s in my regular cab. I lost all leg room on the pass side. The subs i recommended will fit great back there. You should only have to go up like one or two clicks.

This is what I came up with:

Head unit:http:http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/prod...model=CDA-9883

Speakers:http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/prod...model=SPS-57C2
OR
http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_c...hp?comp_id=116

Sub amp:http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/prod...model=MRP-M450

Subs:http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_s...p?series_id=15
I am very impressed with these subwoofers. Plus the fact that they are a little over 4" deep, you won't lose a lot of room. I'm putting one in my Explorer very soon.

All of this will run around $1,000 with wiring. Give or take. Depends on what speakers you go with and how many subs you buy.

wow thats a little steep. JL Audio is over rated as well as over priced. The Alpine amp is also over priced. You can get a Hifonics for cheaper. The name Alpine increases the price dramaticly. There are better speakers for the price. You just need to look around. Im inpressed with my infinitys. My system is as follows.
2 10 inch TC sounds db-500s=240$
Hifonics BXi-1605D Super Class D Amplifier=245$
Infinity Reference Speakers=90$
KnuKonceptz Wiring=65$
H/U=220$
I made the box.
Total=860$

Hit up ebay.... I have 2 eight inch L7's that hit like crazy being pushed by a 1200 watt amp... You won't need a cap but depending on your truck you may need to get a bigger alt.

2 Tang band 8's or 2 DD 8's would be nice

[/QUOTE]
tand band on far end then 2 DD 8" models and a 8W7

tang bands are cheap, not a huge motor on them so its easy to mount comapred to the 8w7 and other big subs
