Ok, Ok, so my fiancee runs over my part of stereo...

Yes you heard me right. Let me explain...
Traded in my 2003 regular cab for a 2004 supercab 4.0. Spent the night before from 10:00 PM to 2:00 AM removing my old crap. Including: Alpine Head unit, 4 Polk 6x8 speakers, 1 sub box that contained a Audiobahn 12" sub and 2 amps, clear corners, rear tow hook, LED bulbs. The hardest part was all the wiring for the stereo, as it was 100% aftermarket, but luckily I didn't remove any of the factory wiring. Oh yeah, I bought a cheapo head unit from Best buy to put back in it's place (sold the original stereo on e-bay)..
So I pulled it all off, only thing I couldn't take with me were the blinker mods, third brake light mod, Mustang dome light, and MAF sensor. Boy was I tired, so I left everything on the garage floor.
Next day, I get off work, goto to the dealership and pick up my new truck and drop off the old. When I get home I open the garage door, and the box that I put all the bits and pieces into looks a little odd. In fact one side of it is bent over. A Quick inspection reveals tire marks on the side of the box, and they line up with my girlfriend's accord sitting inthe driveway.
OK, ok, maybe it was my fault for leaving this stuff on the garage floor. It was late, and I was worn out, but still she should see this stuff on the floor right?
Anyway, in side the box was my $400 Alpine head unit, all miscelanous screws, LED bulbs, etc, etc. Looks like she took out one side marker bulb, and the metal cage for my head unit. 3-4 inches more and she would have crushed the deck itself. At least there is no visible damage to the deck itself...
The funny part is we just had to patch her tire on Tuesday. Turns out she had two screws in it and it was leaking pretty good. Karma?
Anyway Now I need to get a new cage to hold the deck, and a new factory adapter for the wiring. But please, remember to put up your toys

that really sucks man!!! but at the same time, you're really lucky it wasnt worse!! You can most likely get one of those metal sleeves for the headunit anywhere that sells headunits for almost nothing. just go into a stereo shop.. talk for a little.. and ask one of the guys if they have any extras they didnt need that they'd sell to you cheap.. chances are, if they do got one layin around, they'll just let you have it.
as for the screws and such that got lost in your girlfriends tire.. a trip to home depot can fix that! anyway, good luck with everything!! and by the way, do you like the difference with the 4.0 now!?!?

I've been taking what could be described as a forum break. Politics and name calling got to me for a while. Besides, GF got a little sick of me being adicted..
Oh! And where are my maners?! Mnemonic, congrats on the new wheels! [tup]

Oh I ain't worried about the screws. I just think it's funny that after she wrecked those parts, she got a little back herself. There were just random junk screws anyway. I'm just glad she stopped there, because like I said, right behind it were the head unit and two amplifiers all lined up in her path...
Thanks Bubba! Lovin it so far....
Hmmm. I wonder if I should do a remote mount... As in keep the factory head unit in place, and mount the head unit somewhere else. But I still would need to see the display... hmmm. just thinking out loud...
