I've been researching a small-sized CB's for the truck. I'll only be using it while wheeling and probably won't even hard mount/wire it. I'll be using a magnetic mount antenna on the roof.

I've narrowed it down to the following units:

-Midland 1001Z
-Uniden PRO520XL

I've read a couple posts concerning the Midland and only found one post for this particular Uniden model. Do you folks have an opinion on why I should get one of these over the other? Any owners of either of these are welcome to share their opnions.

 

i think that is the midland that i have....no complaints here

 

i have the cobra dx4 in my truck and it works well, and i have baileys old setup (Same exact cb) here in the garage for sale if you're interested

 

I have the Midland and it is a decent CB, the only thing I wish was different about it is I want a no noise switch.

 

I have a midland I bought from walmart for 25 bucks and it works great... I only use mine for wheeling and it preforms well enough for me.

 

What's a "no noise" switch? Doesn't it have a squelsh?

I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on this, but have still not decided which to get. Are there any additional comments concerning one over the other?

I know nothing of the UNIDEN model.. But I am quite happy with my 30 dollar WALLY WORLD Midland...
