pre-out question...
hey, i got a real quick question for yall...
i have a kenwood H/U with a 5 volt pre out, now if i hooked up like, 2 amps off the sub out put, for a dual amp set up, running though the inputs and output on the amps, would that make the pre out voltage the same as 2.5 volts per amp? or does the voltage stay constat on this application too.
Oh, and one more thing so i don't have to start another thread. I'm trying to find a port calculator, i just searched and i got nothing. looked through the last couple pages and still got nothing. so if someone could help me out here as well, i'd greatly appreciate it.

i am not 100 percent sure, but the answer to your first question is no. your output from the HU has a 2 jacks, you could check both jacks with a dmm to find out what they are both putting out. also you most likely will only get the full 5V when the hu is all the way up, increasing the chance of distortion.
i would say HU output -> RCA -> Y splitters on each end and one splitter per amp. that is assuming that this is a dedicated non fader output specifically for sub output.
another thing that i am not to sure about (haven't really messed around with car audio in a good long while) is that the enclosure for the subs has a chamber for each sub.
also, make sure that the amp/sub combo is the same, if i recall that makes a difference.

that sorta helps...
i was thinking like this:
H/U
RCA
input on first amp
ouput on first amp
RCA
Second amp.
would both amps still reviece 5 volts?
it doesn't keep dividing the volts up whenever you connect another amp off the channel does it?
my H/U is a Kenwood Excelon KDC-X889, says 5 volt pre out on the front.
input on first subwoofer amp to output of first amp
