you could run sony xplod 6x9s up front with a small amp and one mtx or sumthing similar with a bigger amp. sonys and their amp can be had at wal-mart and the sub and sub amp id suggest circuit city. you may also want to try audiobahn.

Under $800 eh....

I'll agree with Lone_Ranger on the front speakers and amp. Prolly like 65-70 Watts RMS. Get like a 150-175 watt X-plod amp or equivalent. For the rear i would suggest the audiobahn 105 Watt RMS speakers which are available at crutchfields or Sounddomain.

For the Head Unit I personally suggest a JVC Arsenal Mp3 HU. They are reasonable in price, very good quality for the JVC name brand, loaded with features, and pretty powerful.

For subs, since i've never had subs in a truck i'd have to suggest MTX Thunders. They have great reviews for depth, handling, construction, durability, and functionality. And i've heard from more than one person on this forum about how well they work.
I'd stick with an MTX Sub amp as well. Prolly like 400-500 watts RMS and you should still be under 800.

But the excess will prolly go to an adaptor for your new HU, new harness, and a wiring kit for the amp, unless you sweet talk a salesman into throwing one in.

it'll be tight under $800...its silly to buy less quality brands now and then upgrade. better saving a little more $$ then getting a better stuff.

i have no suggestions for a HU but i say Alpine or Pioneer
but for front stage i suggest RE comps - $200 est.
for the front amp i suggest a US Acoustics 4085 - $180
for the woofers, not really up on the brands but a 10 in a sealed box would do ya
for the sub amp a JBL BP series is a good choice
add some Scoshe wiring and ur set.

yeah, that would work. just make sure that you get factory specs on the sub and build your box around that. you don't wanna starve a solo-baric of air. it'll sound worse than having all your speakers blown...

Heck, there are competitions for the best systems that cost less than 1,000 bucks. Ebay is also your friend.

I've also purchased from www.ikesound.com and had no problems, and they are pretty cheap too.

forget that solobaric, get a Flame Q 12 off ebay the one with 1000 rms and get ready to bolt your truck together! look ebay you can get on cheap from a wholesaler but you'll need space so it's great for a double cab, but if ya got a single stay with the solo cuase it's smaller. Stay with systems also by that i mean if ya got a Kicker Sub get a Kicker amp as aswell i'm not sure about the truck scene but i know with the imports it's good to stay with one brand for everything
