remote wire for two amps and a eq
okay so i have a alpine deck(its a 98_ _), an alpine 3339 eq that i just bought off of ebay. then i have my memphis 200.1 (on subs but i am putting on a component kit)and i plan to put a memphis 500.1 (for my subs) on there as well...okay to my question.
i have blown the remote on a deck before so i dont want it to happen again. well anyways i have talked to radio shops before and they said that i needed a relay to keep this from happening again...so basically after all of this rant all i need to know is...what relay do i need? and does anyone know how to wire the relay i need properly?

the last deck i destroyed was an alpine...not gonna risk it what i am gonna do is get one of these
http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...number=330-073
and wire it like this:
it helps take the "pressure " so to speak off of the deck.
so im set

if you're just gonna run your remote to two amps, then there is no need for relay...that just adds one more thing you'll have to T/S when you encounter a problem. and believe me, as a half-*** auto mechanic and a fully certified aircraft electronics specialist, the less components in the system, the better it works....

ok...i understand the fact that you can't keep replacing them, but a relay isn't gonna do anything for you. that's also a fact. It's not gonna stop something from burning up. It's just gonna put more of a draw on your vehicle's electrical system.
Ok...here's my suggestion...double check every single connection and wire in your system. There has got to be a short somewhere in your system. A relay won't make a short go away either. It will help create the potential for a new short in your truck.
It's your truck, and i am in no way tryin to tell you how to do it...but i work around all kinds of electrical systems and i have a pretty good knowledge of circuitry. I'm just trying to suggest some other options that you have....
