Quick Question

I am looking to run my ipod through the stock system in a 2007 XLT. I have an FM transmitter but I'm not entirely happy with it. I would like to keep this project as dirt cheap as possible so I can throw my cash at other things. So does anyone know of a way to get the ipod to run through a stock radio, or maybe a cheap head unit that would swap in easily and has an aux input? Thanks everyone.

Crutchfield.com has several around a $100 that will control your Ipod, and they send you all needed harnesses and adapters if you order a $129 and up unit.

You can buy just the Aux input itself if you want. They can be found in any proper audio store. My neighbour put one in his boat, and I think he only payed like 10 bucks for it.
Or you can find newer ranger head unit, like 08+ I think, and they have them I believe. If they aren't in the headunit, I think that they have them in the vehicle, I think they might be where the air bag switch is

Thanks, I looked around for mine. The owner's manual says that there are 2 locations where you would find one if you had it and I'm pretty sure that I don't. May have to look at the junkyard and see if someone totalled an 08 that I could swap with. Would a new head-unit change the way the radio or anything sounds? Or will it be more of the same? I wouldn't be changing the speakers...yet... haha

If you can find one that has an upgraded sound system, I think it was pioneer that did it, the it should improve a little bit. The biggest limiting factors on our rangers are the speakers and the headunit. Soooo everything lol.
