best speakers to use?

I am in the middle of putting a system in my truck. i had a cheap amp running two eclipse 10's but i want to upgrade. I am buying my friends kenwood 800 watt 2 channel amp that sounds really good with just his one 12. you can hear it from about a block away when he has it loud enough. I blew up one of my eclipse subs somehow and i was wondering what kind of 10's i should upgrade to. I was thinking MTX or kicker...whats everyone elses opinion? also what should i get for the door speakers? i have pioneers in teh back already. would polk be good?

when you say the competition grade does that mean when it says comp after it? b/c i haven't seen any that dont say that but the more expensive ones say comp VR. dunno what that means...

see, i dont know everything bout the kickers. if they all say comp then i would look at the specs of it(rms, max, ohms) then make the best decision that my amp would run the best. but yea the VR's are the above comp. i know a few guys who have them. i wouldnt run them unless i had at least a 1000 watt amp though, they are rated very high on rms and max.

oh ok thanks for the info. i had a 10" comp before with a ported box and it sounded pretty good. so what kind do you think would be the best for my 800 watt amp? that would be 400 per channel im guessing and i would like to get subs that are rated a little bit higher incase i want to upgrade the amp again.

I have had an L5 and a Comp VR. The L5 hit alot harder than the comp and they were powered by the same amp.

well depends, do u want 2 speakers or just one? and whats the rms on the amp? on a 800 it should be somwhere like 250-300 watts per channel. and then u need to know if u want a 4 ohm or a 2.

Umm...no. Rockford is a no. The foam surround will go out faster than the rubber butyl surround on other subs. The only Alpine I would ever own would be the Type-R...BUT for that money you can buy something alot better. JL is overpriced. Only JL worth it is the W6. There are other brands out there better than all of these. TC-Sounds, FI, RE, and more. Look around.
