It doesn't matter. The ports have to be tuned per specs of the subwoofer. Diameter, length and how many depend on the subwoofer and the size of the box.

what size sub?

if you can alaways go larger, it can be louder, offer less port noise, and look cooler :)

Like they said, it depends on the sub, power, and you have to tune the box to the sub, once its tuned, a 2'' port will hit tighter to fast pased, and a 4'' port will be real deep bass either or it will sound good.

2" port has 4 sq inches port
4" port has 16 sq "
6"has 36sq "

i try to do 15-20" per 10
around 30" for a 12
45-50 for a 15
and around 70" for an 18"
you can do less but this will suffice for most subs, but more is usually better

port noise FTL

I just bought a new W3V3 and it has recommendations with the sub for building a sealed or ported box with drawings and such showing the proper dimensions. See if you can't find something like that on RF's site.
