started the stereo install

my parents just came up friday night to deliver the ranger. they don't really drive it much, so they offered it to me to use as my daily driver since i'm selling my wrangler. it's 12 years old and not exactly pretty anymore, but it was free so i'm not complaining. since i'm going to be driving it everyday, i figured i'd put in some of my spare stereo stuff.

Pioneer DEH-6500 - headunit
Kicker KS525 - 5.25" speakers (doors and rear panels)
JL Audio 10w0 - sub
PPI 4480 4 channel - speakers amp
Bazooka ELA 60.2 - sub amp

so anyway, started ripping into it this evening. didn't have too much time to work on it, but i got the headunit installed. the remote and rca's run to the back for the amps, and one rear speaker put in. of course the speakers (door and rear panels) are 5x7s. i am putting two pair of 5.25" coaxials in the truck. #1 - round speakers sound so much better than oval shapped speakers, and #2 - i had the 5.25" and they are virtually brand new. 6.5"s would've been better, but no biggie. i had to make some adapters to fit the 5.25" speaker in the 5x7" space so that kinda took a bit of my time. for the rears, i just used some thin gauge sheet metal i had left over from another project because there is not much space for a thick adapter. i'll probably use some thin plywood for the doors since there is a little more room.
the amps will just get mounted to the back wall because they are too big to mount under the front seats, and i just couldn't figure anywhere else to put them. the sub will just stay in the current box for now, but i plan to pull the driver's side jumpseat and fiberglass an enclosure in that space at some point.

thanks. i'm sure it will be just fine. i had all that stuff in my wrangler just a week ago. i'm not going crazy high dollar on this truck so what i already have will suffice. @ 12 years old, it just wouldn't be worth it. the only thing i had to buy was the $9 radio fit-kit.
