mismatching speakers

i bought a pair of kenwoods that were on sale and at the time i only had enough extra money for one pair. i was wondering if it matters if i get two different speakers for my doors and the back of the cab? thanks for any help.

they might sound a little different, but technically, no, it should work fine, as long as they are both car speakers

I've done this, works fine. I matched Kickers up front to Pioneers in back. The only problem I had was that the kickers were sharp and clear while the pioneers had more of a powerful bass sound. This made a big contrast in the sound coming from front vs the back. Ended up sounding like s!@# during certain songs, so I changed the fronts to pioneers. You'll never know how it sounds til you try it out though.

Rear speaker are more for fill anyways. Unless you roll with your seat leaning all the way back you wont hear all the details from the rear speakers. But you can definitely hear them if you have a decent headunit, four > two.
