I am planning on using this set up,

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but how should I wire the amp to the sub? I'm not sure if it is as easy as positive to positive and negative to negative or if I need to do something else.

It's just a single sub, so it is as easy as positive to positive and negative to negative.

 

Thanks, just what I needed to know. Also, should I have the amp running at 300 watts at 4 ohms or 500 watts at 2 ohms?

 

Since it is a single voice coil it is just going to be positive to positive and negative to negative. And since its a single 4 ohm it is going to be wired at 4 ohms, there isn't anything you do to change that other than buy a different subwoofer, there is no ohm setting on the amp. You would have to buy a dual voice coil 4 ohm or a single voice coil 2 ohm subwoofer if you wanted to get a 2 ohm load on the amp giving you 500w.

I also have a question about wiring if someone can help ?

I have a 360w 4 channel (non-bridgeable) amp that I was originally going to use for the front/rear, but decided against it as the stereo sounds great without it.
if I wanted to use this as a mono amp, would I be able to wire all the positive leads together and all the negative leads together, and then run those to the sub ? in effect, trying to get 360 watts in total running to the sub. or will that not work ?

not really, I have a 100w amp that is non-bridgeable, is only 2 channel, that Im running as a mono amp.
+ w/ + and - w/ - and it works, my concern is that doing 4/1 would either cancel one another out, or would fry the amp.
