CD player getting hot while truck is off?
Ok, so in the ongoing saga of fun things in my truck..
Yesterday my deck stopped working($100 Dual cd with usb from walmart haha) It had been acting a little finicky for the last couple days. I noticed the light around the volume **** stayed on, even after I turned the truck off.. I investigated a little, and found that the unit was still getting hot, even though the truck was off.. So i yanked it out.
What could cause this? I had the unit installed back in June, and it worked fine up until now-ish. I had some Hella 500s installed last week, but I watched the guy wire them, and I don't think he did anything wrong. Its not like the wire from the lights ever touches the deck wiring.
What do I need to do now? I want to listen to some music, but I would rather not my truck go up in flames.

Sounds like it was wired wrong, there should be a wire for 12v constant and a wire for 12v switched so the deck turns off with the ignition, the constant is only for the memory settings etc. Maybe they were reversed or something? Did the light on the volume **** stay on since day 1 or did that just start happening recently? But to be totally honest, I would stay away from Dual from wal mart, you can get much better decks from like Kenwood, Pioneer, Jvc etc. For under $150 and they are so easy to install as well, then you know it was done right.
