Audio system upgrade help

new to the ''field'' of modding an audio system ...

help me out here guys ... I want it to be louder. I know I need an amp and more powerful speakers. What else do I need? I'd love for the bass to be really making my passengers' heads explode ... I listen to alot of music with double-bass. NO RAP. Mostly classic rock, and newer stuff.

here's a sample.

(it may not seem great at first, it gets better, i swear, lol)

Listen to my song.

So, what do I do? and can you guys give me a rough estimate? thanks a * * * *load in advance.

it's a 2005 ranger xlt, FYI

get a nice new headunit... maybe an indash touchscreen DVD player one... then get some good speakers for the doors and the back... pioneer makes ones made especially for fords and mazdas and they pump awesome

then get yourself two 10" subs... 10's sound better for rock IMO

you don't necessarily need the pioneer speakers. Any 6X8 will work, I had the pioneer's and i just bought a pair of audiobahn AS57PQ's and they sound 10x's better and I also listen to a lot of rock

A new head unit, components in the front, 2 or 3 ways in the rear for fill. 2 amps, 1 4 way & 1 2 way, 2 10" subs & enclosure. Heres a link to my sight with my system, might give you some ideas. : http://mysite.verizon.net/res1c0ed/ricksrides/id13.html

Extended. However, behind my seats is all wiring for my lights ... my auxillary batter is also back there. I'll be getting everything re-wired professionally on the 27th of March, so if you'd like I can get some pictures up.

One of my buddys' today told me to put subs underneath the seats. I don't know if that'll fly in my truck, but, we'll see.

so what are ya thinkin for subs?

just a nice headunit. I have too many things to play with in my interior already.

If he wants nice SQ with some bump shouldnt he go with like TC or FI? RE? Those would be my picks. I would also check out the Pioneer DEH-6800MP. IT IS AWESOME. Has all the equilizer bands that youll need for rock.

yes the tc-100s went down in price as well as the 3000 titanium i think. Something for him to check out because the 1000 would be the best bet in the price range. Hifonics amp?

the stuff you use is all up to you, your ears, and your budget.
the thing i wouldn't do would be to install 6x8s. adapt some 6.5s to fit in place instead.
