I dont like any of the interfaces of the new alpine decks. They look badass, but they are a pain to use. I love my pioneer DEH-5000. Simple to use, looks decent, has every feature you could want, and its less than $200.
I love how you can control the ipod through the deck, like the Alpine.

The only thing I do not like is it is kind of difficult to get to the sound settings. The remote is by far better than the Alpine remote though.
Definitely good for the price. Bought it new for $120 with some Pioneer 4-ways I picked up for $30 a pair, sounds damn good. My JLs in my Honda actually sound like crap compared to my truck set-up, but thats just until I get my sub fixed and can just use the JLs for the highs.

Are you going to amp your new speakers? Any deck will not have the power potential for good component speakers, so the power output on the deck is not anything to look at.
The simpler the deck the better (not ridiculous settings). I have a CDA9811 Alpine deck and I love it.
If you plan on staying under 200$ it's going to be tough to get the best, but you can definitely sound better than stock.
