Center channel
After seeing the thread in the interior forum I just have to ask... What benefit is there for a center channel?? I have center channels on my home entertainment centers but when playing music it sounds terrible. I normally switch it to 2 speaker mode. Maybe if you were playing dvd's but... What's the benefit of it?

I did a little research after posting. Quite a interesting concept. Splice the positive of the center into the positive of the left speaker and the negative of the center to negative of the right. Although it offsets the ohms which causes more power, makes sense, need to read more on it. May have to install two in series (I think). After I install the 5.25's in the door i'll have 2 5.25's and 2 4's so I may tinker with it. My plan would be to install one in the vents, ac from three vents in a regular cab is way more than sufficent, 2 would be enough it need be. All depends on how much room. I didn't drive the truck to work today or i'd be out there right now measuring.

like mentioned above.. a center channel is better with surround sound systems, like you'd find in your house normally. if i had a dvd player and video in my truck, i'd have a center and surround... but, since i have no video, i don't see a point in having the center.
let us know how it turns out... and if you can, get pics of the finished product.

I'm going to experiment with this. I can fit 2 4" speakers in the center space between the shifter and seat. I don't have my hole drill bits or I would of had it made, also getting my table saw. Made some speaker adapters for 5 1/4's and I decided i'm going the safer route this time. I'll post pics when I get it done.
