Supposed to be Sat ready. Anybody know of a kit that makes this work thru the factory std. head unit? The add on units work I know, but I'd like it thru the head unit with nothing showing.

 

you have to have that option not all the trucks come with it.

yeah it would be sirius not xm. On my 07 it was an option, which i have, but i heard on 08's it is standard. If so all you should need is a subsription and yes it is built into the head unit, not an add on external unit. Does you truck have a black oval thing on the passenger side of the roof? If so it is the antena and your truck should be sirius ready

 

The Sirius unit is not built into the factory radio it is a stand alone unit.

yes i realize that. what i meant was that the sirius is controlled by the headunit, not an extra contol module mounted on the dash like anyone that buys it seperatly and adds it on. As far as i know 08's came with sirius standard so it should have the sirius box already (i think in the pass. side kick panel) that hooks up to the stock headunit.

 

here soon the sirius and xm merger should take place.
that is a side note

 

my 07 has it as an option.

i think the radio is hard wired for it but it wont come with the antenna or anything that you have to pay for or get it as an option.
