who uses HD Radio?

Just wondering,

I've been curious because I keep hearing all these commercials about how much better it is than regular radio.

Anyone have any thoughts after using? Is it all a buncha BS? I'm thinking about changing out the stock deck so that I can hook up my old sub and amp and other goodies but I keep coming across decks that have HD radio built in or are HD radio ready...

Your input will greatly influence my decision.

Thanks guys!

Brandon

If you have to pay for it (i.e. subscription) it's not worth it IMO.

If you want to shell money out, get Sirius Satellite Radio. Money well spent.

My mom has it in her car and I tried it once, I didn't really listen for sound quality difference but liked the extra radio stations it offers. I would buy it for that alone.

It's free.

Yah I've heard of the few extra stations available too. Guess that depends where you live.

as far as sound quality goes, were/are you guys impressed? I don't think the quality of satellite radio is very good, just my opinion.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, I don't care about the extra channels much, I just want to know if the sound quality is THAT MUCH better...

sound quality is very clear. CD quality. however id check your area stations to see if they have HD stations. my area only 2 of the stations have HD channels. Also I find in my area (hilly terrain) that I don't pick these stations u as well. So all and all I plan on getting rid of my pioneer adapter.

HD radio sounds awesome! I will be putting an HD unit in my ranger very soon. I would research it more to see how many HD stations are in your area. Also I noticed the units with HD built in make even regular AM and FM sound better and you can pick a good unit up starting at about $100.

All the stations in my area have HD stations now. I didn't really notice a huge difference personally

its just a little bit of quality upgrade with HD. Mine always loses HD signal which pisses me off, I dont even use it anymore.
