Wiring Harness?

Hey guys, im getting some new Pioneer speakers in the mail anyday now. (
Amazon Amazon
) Im upgrading my stock two front speakers to these with a stock head unit still. (1999 XLT Extended Cab 4x4) What do i need to hook these up, can they just plug into the origonal connections? Or do i need a harness of some kind, if so, a link to one would be great! thanks!

If you are talking about what you need to connect new speakers, you need terminal connectors. When I done mine, I bought some from scosche. I had to cut the factory speaker connector on the wires and use a wire diagram to crimp the positive and negative terminals to the speaker wire. From there it was a simple connect of the wires to the new speakers. I believe the smaller or thinner terminal is the negative and the bigger or wider one is the positive. The speakers may be labeled. Do a search on here for speaker wiring. I found one a while back. Tells you the positive and negative of each speaker.

Romaswake,
Did you get this done ?
I too am putting in Pioneer Speakers, maybe a single 10” sub but time is always the problem.

Since the wire size is based on head unit output why not try-out the speakers with the OEM wiring and see if it sound OK for now.
IF and when you upgrade to a new head unit then consider chg’g the speaker wiring to 14 or 12 gauge speaker wire, maybe even a small amp to cover the number of speakers you will be using.

luck,
