interesting little trick for ipod /XM users

i dont know if this is old news or what bear with me im a 43 year old technologically deprived old man

My step daughter insists on her ipod in the truck and i dont have the thing that plugs into the cassette and the ipod so the thing plays through the car stereo but i have an XM roadie in the truck i found a way out and am not sure if its common knowledge
turns out if you unplug the audio out ( second down wire) and plug it into the ipod.. you turn the power on the XM and keep your stereo on 87.5 so that it clears the frequency and it plays the ipod

They have ipod docking stations like that, too. It'll charge the iPod while you listen to music. :)
