more sub help.....

absolutely... its less stressful to the amp to run higher impedance (ohm) speakers. and your system will be more efficient per watt of power.
just to clear things up, your amp does not run at 4 ohms (that just tells you what resistance it was rated at for power output). It runs at whatever ohm the sub is.
So your amp would be running at 8 ohms with a 8 ohm sub on it. same with your home stereo. it was running at 8 ohms also.
If you put a 4 ohm sub on the amp then it would run a 4 ohms. get it?
let me know what sub and amp your running.
I can sort of give you an idea of what to expect from the combo.
also what type of box do you have the sub in?

well your going to be a bit under powered. your amp is the weak point.
In a sealed box (depending on its internal volume) power rating on the sub will increase typicly.
optimum power would be in the 200-300 watt RMS amp. your amp is actually rated at 150w RMS (marketing tricks)
Thats not saying your sub won't work. it just won't be giving you its full potential.
One thing you must remember when adjusting the gain setting on the amp is that you do not have enough power to run the sub as loud as it will go.
You will have to listen for the tonal change that happens when your amp is over driven. that will be your maximum gain level. it can be hard to hear if you've never heard it before.

Your amp goes into protection? i missed that part till now. disconnect the sub from the amp, then cut the power to the amp for about 10 secs. then power up your amp. (leaving the sub disconnected) does the light go away?
now, with the gain/sensitivity **** all the way counter clock wise. re attach your sub (with amp power off)then turn the amp back on. see if it goes into protection. let me know what the out come was.

thats not good man.
1)check to make sure your polarity is correct on your power connections.
2)make sure there is no small wire fragments shorting the amp.
3)remove rcas from inputs, try resetting procedure again.
4) disconnect amp completely for a hour to a day. then just connect the power, ground & remote wire and check for the light
5) amp has a blown transistor. return if possible, and get a replacement amp.
or
6) buy my amp (ill even give you a special discount)
