Winter just suuuuucked this year for road salt and grime.....as usual. Whoa, the rig needs a detail. What product is the best on the market for getting that crazy brown oxidation to bling once again?

Steel wool...cheap and works awesome!

 

The only thing that I have found to make chrome look good... flat black spray paint.

 

Damn you beat me to it lol. But I was going to say satin black. Gotta have a little shine to it still.

But in all seriousness I have found that turtle wax chrome polish with a sos pad works the best.

i use flitz i love it, you can use it on soooo many different surfaces

 

mothers mag and aluminum polish works pretty good too

Thats what I was thinking with the ideas you guys put out. Sos pad all the grimey tough areas, then some product and a buff. I used this blue magic on my drums(the ones you play)before, but hot damn! Its like pure ammonia, and I had to evacuate my basement for an hour. Did a great job though.

 

just pick up some roll on bed liner i F*CKING hate chrome with a passion as you can tell by my truck

 

x2 on the steel wool.
then some chrome polish or something.

 

you say that but your pic shows a white truck with huge chrome rims

Another trick that works is Pepsi and tin foil. If you apply the Pepsi with tin foil on to the chrome than wash it off afterwards it leaves a brilliant shine.

Can Pepsi actually work as a cleaning material?? Are you sure? Will surely try out this idea on something.

 

The best metal cleaner and protectant I have found in my 25 plus years detailing is Metalwax. Look at their webpage and decide for yourself. It does not have to be rubbed, just spread and it leaves a protective finish that lasts! I even use it on my motorcycle windshield and it works to remove those water spots engrained in your window glass. www.metalwax.com

 

I just bought some S100 polishing soap and wheel cleaner for my chrome rims, I'll post back with some before and after pics...

 

Where do you guys get like 0000 and 00000 steel wool
