best thing to clean

Steam cleaner on the carpets! I let my old fx4 go for like 3 years w/o cleaning it and it was my work truck(construction). It was all muddy and clay dirt was stained all over the place on my grey carpet. I steam cleaned it with a bissel and the carpets looked brand new! Same with the seats. I use armor all on the dash. Some ppl say it's bad for the material but whatever.
If you have tint, use ammonia free glass cleaner and newspaper. If you don't have tint windex works fine.
Fabreze works wonders too if your truck has a water, smoke, or just stagnant smell.

I use Tuff Stuff and a bucket of hot water and a hand-towel soaked in the water to clean my carpets, but we recently got a nice carpet steamer with the furniture attachments so I'll try it next. I do the same with the carpet floor mats, but just use the hose to rinse the cleaner out. I use Black Magic on the interior plastic stuff (dash, door panels, etc.) and since I switched to leather seats, I use Meguires 2 in 1 leatehr conditioner and cleaner. As for smell, I don't smoke in the truck so I just occassionaly give a it a shot of Febreeze Auto as I think it smells alot better than the regular Febreeze. If you want more "freshness" you can turn the A/C to MAX (which recirculates the cab air) and shoot some Lysol or Oust into the floor vents and the vents will smell fresh for days. The old trick of sticking some dryer sheets in the floor vent works too. I have tinted windows so I too use an ammonia free glass cleaner and paper towels and finish it off with a newspaper wipe down. The newspaper does a great job of removing any streaks left over from the paper towels.
