Mud/Water spots on engine

Anyone know of a good cleaner to take the dried mud off the engine bay and all the black parts that love to show off the mud. I could take the hard way and hand wash everything but im wondering if anyone knows of a spray that will clean it for the most part, Simple green does not do much.

I tried Gunk and it sucks. It didn't do crap. Total waste of money.

mud/dirt really likes rubber parts. Degreaser and a pressure washer do work wonders. Careful where you shoot though....plus you should be quite a distance away anyway.

Get yourself a steam cleaner.. I recommend it for any engine (Just be careful where you aim it!)

drive ur truck around the block once. till its ALMOST at normal temp. come home. open the hood. then go get hose and turn it on, get simple green. walk over to the truck spray ending lightly. then apply a liberal amount of SG. close hood and let it sit for about 10 minutes. come back reopen hood and hose off. repeat as needed. the key here is a WARM engine.

I've had my truck for almost 4 years now and I've never cleaned under the hood. It's my DD and I don't usually hang out in parking lots with my hood open. Hood opens when I change the oil, run out of washer fluid, or when boosting other vehicles.

But a clean engine bay does look good.
