Rust, and lots of it!!!

My 07 is rusting bad on the bottom inside sill on the passenger door, between those to drain tabs . Also some starting in the tail gate near the drain tab on the right side of the inner skin. Anyone else getting that?

Both are pretty common spots! My '07 was just starting inside the bottom of the doors before I sold it.

Yup, my 98 was bubbling on the doors and the tailgate was before I did the bed swap.

Now that I think of it my '97 was as well. The tailgate was far worse than the doors though!

It all depends where you live and if there is salt in your area.

I know. Nothing I own is that bad. If you wash it once a month even then they dont rot like that. My 98 is rather clean for a rust belt truck

My biggest "WTF" is that its only on the passenger door!!! I'll take a wire wheel to it and shoot some spray on bed liner to it. How do I get the door panel off to look inside to see just what is rusting in there? Power windows and door locks.

You can't take the outside panel off. You can take the interior door panel off though and look down into it. Most likely its just surface rust though if you caught it early enough. But when you sand it down you should be able to see how bad it is.

Get a small sandblaster, mask everything off, and blast out the area. Spray in some etching primer, a coat or two, then paint to match the truck. Then go buy some body cavity wax in a spray can and spray it all up inside the door bottom through those drain holes. Leave out those plastic clip in things from the drain holes when your done. This method might not last forever but it at least makes it look better for a few years. Ford quite using seam sealer on the areas where the door lip is put together/folded over so it's a spot prone to rusting.

Looks just like you said, the drip holes are clean, its the area between them. Wire wheel and some undercoat spray. The tail gate will get the same before it starts rusting around the lip.
Thanks...
