quick question about Brakecleen, need quick answer if possible

so the stupid little white button thing at the top of the can that you push to make the **** squirt out snapped off. i tried another button thing and it still wont work..

i have an empty glass cleaner bottle. the brakecleen can is roughly 3/4 full still and i dont wanna waste it.. so my question is how much pressure is in these cans?? the can says not to puncture it but i want the damn brakecleen!!! so if i drilled a hole in the top of the can above the liquid will the can blow up in my face?? was hoping to do this within a half hour or so. thanks.. if it will got any more suggestions other than throwing away the can and get a new one.

dont drill ****... here is what you do, is the aerosol bottle the kind where the cap goes in to the neck to release the contents or is it the kind where the cap sits on top of a neck that sticks out??? either or, what you need is something like a BIC pen where you would use the insert that holds the ink as a release. not fancy, but anything that will depress the release mechanism and is hollow so that it can somewhat be directed. actually anything that will fit inside enough to depress it and provide room for the product to escape should work...

option b, go to store and steal another cap.

sweet i'll try that.. i was thinking that i had to find a way to depress the thingy... the white button thingy on top depresses the mechanism thingy inside to replease to liquid. gonna go find me a pen now!!! thanks guys.. i had a feeling it would blow in my face so i thought i should ask first.. haha

yup. thats exactly what you want to do. just dont have it aimed anywhere near your face, with this method, you never known which way its going to come out initially. i used to do a lot of graffiti so i have various ways of working with aerosol cans for mixing my own colors and spray effects.

shake it up a lot and then drill a hole in the top, youll be good. shaking it will separate the propellant from the brakleen and nothing will happen when you drill the hole.

well geez i didnt know what the hell to call the stupid thing!!!i tried lumpy's suggestion and it works a bit.. i gutted a pen and used the tube that the ink is in, grabbed it with a pair of needle nose pliers and pushed the end of the tube on the mechanism.. i gave up but i did find a can of liquid wrench so i used that, which is almost gone.. so when it is i will steal the cap for the brakecleen can.

had some oil spraying all over the place and then it gets dirty, it caked on the engine real good.. the mower is a ***** to start and keep it running when its cold, but once its warms up it gets hot pretty quickly because lack of air flow to the cooling fins.

my mower doesnt get "put away" in the winter.. it gets torn apart and cleaned and fixed. haha..

was thinking about using some engine degreaser but i dont have any and no money to get some. so i will continue using liquid wrench seems to work fine, once that runs out swap caps on the brakecleen and use that.

Youre cleaning with penetrating oil? A gallon of Purple Power concentrate is like 5 bucks at walmart...

Break cleaner evaporates really fast. Even if you can get it out of the aerosol can safely, the vapor pressure will surely burst the plastic glass cleaner bottle. Good luck. Be careful.
