I just picked up a 3000psi gas with a vertical shaft Briggs. Not sure on the hp but it's rated at 8.75 torque. Found it on clearance at Lowes... reg $528 on half price for $264!
I've only used it once so far and playing around with it I took some paint off the company truck... lol. It was peeling anyways!
For the last couple years I've been using my father-in-laws Karcher with a 5.5hp Honda on it. Works great too but he paid a lot more than I did for mine!

ive heard hit and miss reviews on these. So people love em. Others manage to blow the motor in like 30 minutes. I dont know if its user error or not but Ive never managed to blow a briggs motor.

briggs motors tend to get a bad rap because they are considered "cheap" in comparison to honda. yamaha ect. but i own several briggs equipped power equipment and have never had a lick of trouble with any of them. they all start super easy and run great. if this is just for home use and not intended to use all day every day you will be fine with a briggs.

Briggs motor blowing up in 30min? Either it has water as oil or it has no oil but I have NEVER heard of a briggs blowing up that quick, maybe after 30 years....

We'll, I fired mine up for a few minutes yesterday.
I just happened to be standing next to my lawn mower, and I decided to blast the stuff off of it.
Silly me....I end up blasting all of the dirt and crap onto my house lol. Good thing it came off though.
I didn't realize how powerful these things are.

the pressure from these things can be dangerous but nothing to be scared of. did yours come with different tips? mine has different tips that go from low to high pressure so you can go from washing your truck to blasting paint off your house if you wish. lol this reminds me of when i was in Iraq and my unit had a massive diesel power washer for washing the trucks and a guy thought it would be smart to powerwash his boots. thr spray went through his boots and through the skin on his toes and required stitches to put back together. now thats power!
