getting dirty right after a wash

ive had my truck for almost 2 weeks now and ive washed it 6 times. black may have been a bad idea. first day i washed it hit a crow when taking it out to dry it off. crap all over my headlight and fender as well as some blood and feathers, day 2 someone was blowing sand out of their driveway as i was pulling out of the car wash. day 3 washed it at home by hand. beagle jumped on it when my stepmom brought it back from its walk. fixed this problem by removing the beagle from the equation. day 5 dusty construction area about 1/2 mile from car wash. day 6 washed in the driveway again, windy and lots of pollen on it after i took a crap. washed it again today in the driveway, covered it up, not touching it ill drive the old truck.

Thats what I do on my vehicles. Its less work to wipe them down with detailing spray than it is to wash and dry them. Obviously if its snowing out or muddy she's going to get washed.

I've owned one black car in my life and I'll never do another. It was a 4th gen Camaro and its impossible to keep it looking nice on a DD. After I had some of the stuff repainted it would just damn near take a leaf to fall on it and swirl mark the hell out of it. Make sure you always have a Microfiber cloth on hand at all times. For the longest time I had dreamed of painting my 37 Ford black to help accent the chrome, after owning my Camaro the 37 got painted DSG.

same here in Nevada too, right where I live people are riding quads and bikes in front of my house every day, I have washed my truck and it was literally dusty a half hour later, The California car duster is my freind, along with the instant detailer.

The California car duster
^Pick one of these up, they really do work great. That and what everyone else said about spray detailers will save you a full wash every time. Black sucks, but damn it looks good clean!

I've noticed that sometimes they almost leave a wax/grease film on the paint. I think its whatever they put on them to help make the dust stick. Plus as you've said it has Cali in the name so it can go jump off a bridge for all I care.

i dont recall. if i remember right i only payed like 12 bucks or so for 2 cans that were slightly larger than your average rattle can (in size so maybe 4oz more?) idk but it works great....

i know there used to be a dealer on here for dri wash or something but its great stuff.

so your another that assumes the WHOLE of NY is a crime fest? i live in wayne county on a hay farm, the most redneck part of this state. over 6 hours away from NYC. my cousins leave their keys in their trucks 24/7 and haven't had them stolen. ever. Theres more to NY than just the city (which i've never been to, nor do i plan on going. i hate cities)

Instead of re-washing it, I would have just taken my power washer to it real quick and then dried it. If that **** happened right after washing it completely, its easy to get it off your paint with pressurized water
