i had x-pell headlight protection on the ranger and have it on the L and it never discolored or cracked. i'd do this in a second for the front end if all the paint was perfect but since it's not i'll wait until it's repainted sometime.

3M also has some stuff called clearshield. We install that at my buddies shop. It is an awsome product to work with. We haven't had one come back yet with a problem and we've been doing those for a couple of years.

Clearshield is garrantied not to discolor or crack.

I would go with that before going with a clear bra set-up.

from there web site
Our products are so strong they are warranted by 3M™ not to yellow, crack or peel for 5 years after installation

Best investment on a new truck ever! Well maybe not but..... I don't think I would bother unless the paint was perfect but man it saves alot trouble. My neighbor has it on his jag...yummy :)

I was going to have my buddy at Ziebart do something like that. They are custom cut for the hood, fenders, etc.

I don't know how you'd wax the paint, and on top of that, if it wasn't perfect, it could have the potential to trap water underneath and rust.

No thanks, I'll continue to have a normal paint scheme and junk.

Hmm...

They offer smoked headlight protection. I think I like my clear headlights and corners, but I could get smoked. I think it's time for a photoshop!

Does Line-X rust underneath? No, unless there is air gap's and water can find it's way in there. Does a plastic sticker cause rust? It's been known to happen, especially in Michigan!

Look at bumper stickers on metal bumpers man, there is rust all the time under those things!

So the moral of that story is that prep matters.. I'm willing to bet that if you prepare properly, you will not have rust or moisture problems.

adam remeber the ford vynal on the tail gate i had? its been on for 2 years i riped it off before it went into the body shop to see what it looked like underneathe. the paint was perfect. if you install it correctly you wont have a problem its ALSO clear so you can see an air bulb and you SHOULD mount this stuff WET just like a vynal sticker you use a hard card to push the water out then you should have no bulbs at all if you know what your doing....

You and Colin hit the nail on the head...If you do it right, and you install properly.... Some people at the shops don't care.

That's all I was saying.
