I've had luck with just simply waxing what little chrome parts remaining on my truck when it comes to water spots. That's even dealing with the super hard water out here in NM.

yeah you can just wax it or just go out to an autoparts store and buy some blue magic metal polish

The grille is probably chrome over plastic, not true metal chrome.

yep its plastic coated in chrome plating. wax should work though, or 3M polish / rubbing compound

If its just water spots it should just buff out with QD. Now if its etched into the chrome thats an entire different story. Wax will cover it but you'll need something stronger to totally remove it.

I used Vinegor and water in a spray bottle to get the water spots off my windows and it worked great! It might work for the grille.
