Be careful when using a heat gun, I used one to get my emblems off and surprisingly it is VERY easy to scratch the paint down to the primer when your heating it up with a heat gun. This happened to me but luckily it was covered up by the 06+ emblem. Also I personally would use something like brake cleaner since it doesn't leave any residue.

I think 3m makes something for taking stickers off that wont hurt the paint.
Found it.

Hair dryer or heat gun (be careful not to get it too hot) and carefully peel it up using your fingernail or rubber scraper. Use a petroleum product like WD-40 to get the sticky residue off.

guys guys guys how the hell did u scratch paint with a heat gun..... no good when using a heat gun if u cant touch the surface because its too hot thats too DAMN hot! jus warm the sticker if its above 80 degrees outside if u park it in direct sunlight the sticker gets hot enough to peel right off no RAZOR blades!!!! to reomve residue as long as u have a factory finish lacquer thinner works amazing trust me i do it everyday!

oh and to put on stickers soapy water and some type of flat plastic with absolutely no sharp edges (ie plastic bondo applicator or flat 3M squeege for wet sanding can get them from autozone or one of those) .... spray the area or wet it it down with the soapy water remove the paper backing and apply the sticker directy over the wet area postioning it into place and begin removing the water out to the edges removing all air bubbles and taaddaa like a factory finsh everytime! im 19 and can do this so its pretty easy jus take your time to work the bubbles out to the edges

o if anyone knows what an eraser wheel is i strongly recommend not using on white paint it will burn a yellowish look in the white and nothing will remove it not even wet sanding it will need to be repainted. if u care an eraser wheel is basically a giant eraser shaped like a wheel attached to a rotating air tool commonly used in body shops to remove pinstripes and small stickers or adhesive tape.

I always found that my wife's hair dryer for about 3-5 minutes worked just great to loosen up the stickers. Then you GENTLY scrape off with a plastic knife (like a plastic spoon, or fork...or spork) until it is gone.
Better yet...don't deface your truck with stickers, except on the windows....and except for Cubs stickers. Cubs '10.
