epainting fender flares

I have the gray fender flares that look kinda rough with somes stains/faded spots. I tried the restore black on one of them and it turned it a couple of shades darker but still showed the stains/spots. I am thinking of taking them off and painting them black. But here is my dilemma. My truck is teal green and i have the gray trim around the bumper and the trim strip down along the door and bed. Are these easy peices to take off and paint as well? Should I paint them black or just repaint them the stock gray color. I do plan on repainting the truck black down the road. pls tell me your thoughts.

If you don't feel like painting them, try Stoner More Shine (tire product). I put it on my trim 6 weeks ago, and it still looks brand new. So far, it's out-lasted anything I've ever tried.

The original owner of my 01 painted the flares flat black. I recently masked them off and repainted them a dark flat grey due to fading. Now they look like new.
No runs, no drips, no errors.

try kiwi shoe polish. the sponge kind. vw fans use it on their bumpers to bring them back from fade.
