removing sticky crap

I picked up a full length explorer console and the cup holder part has a lot of sticky junk in/on it. i poured goo-gone in there and let it sit for about 45 minutes while i re-wrapped the lid to the console in black pleather and it still doesn't come off. did it not work because its about 30* outside?

What should i try to remove it? im currently scuffing the whole console with a scotch brite pad because goo gone didn't seem to take out the stains it ahd on the sides either.

thanks.
