i use a carnauba (sp?) wax every time i wash my truck. doesnt hurt one bit! After i wash and dry it, you can see micro swirl marks in the clear coat, the wax takes those out, so i use it every time i wash.

using a true wax wont hurt a thing but if you use a cleaner wax then you are doing a little damage and when I say a little I mean like close to none. Next time you wax try throwing down a coat of polish like #7 from Megs then follow up with #26 or NXT or Gold Class. Ive found that Gold Class does wonders on darker colors. The #7 polish gives the paint some pop if you have have some metallic flake or if you just want more depth, this will not hurt your paint either. Ive heard that you can actually lay this over wax and then wax over it again. But if you want to get a good depth its best to go through steps like with Megs 3 step process, it will net you a better appearance Id say. The more you put into the more you will get out of it, and try new things.

Your using the right wax. I wax my truck once a month. In between waxings, I use the spray detailer....keeps it looking "just waxed".

I use meguiars cleaner wax every once in a while cuz it's so easy to use, a couple times a year I'll throw down the Dupont Teflon wax cuz it scares away grime like you wouldn't believe, but it seriously tires me out to do the whole truck cuz its so hard to get off

Meguiars wax is amazing stuff and you can never wax to much just use a nice micro fiber cloth and you will minimize the swirl marks and make it look real good
