I don't think I will ever get the smell out of my truck. I have tried everything but steam cleaning my carpet and I think I am going to have to do this. I didn't spill very much but the smell still lingers in my truck. If anyone has any ideas please let them be known.

Ooh, that is going to suck. Steam clean the crap out of it over and over and don't miss a single spot. All it takes a drop to make a really strong smell.

steam cleaning is your only shot. If that doesn't work, you have to replace the carpet and pad (or the seat if its on the seat.)

It will wear out after time...a long time...it took almost a year and numerous bottles of automotive febreeze for the smell to come out of a buddy of mines 4runner, and it was about 1/2 a gallon of gas that was spilled

Plastic can + plastic bedliner == BOOM lots of static electricity (why you fill on ground)

Yeah, I filled it up on the ground. I don't know why I didn't put it in the back when I was heading home but I always put it up front with me and leave the windows rolled down. I guess I got what I deserve...but at least the smell is out now. Come to find out I didn't have to take time and steam clean, I just left my windows rolled down for a couple of days and sprayed febreeze in the area every once in awhile.

glad you got it out, I once spilled gas in the trunk of my mustang and I never did get the smell out, even when I took the carpet and pad out of the trunk and hosed it out.

Comparing truck height (lifted, lowered, and stockers read)

That sucks man. I didn't spill very much gas in my truck so I guess that is why it didn't stay very long.
