grille question???

I have a 1999 ranger xlt and it has a chrome grille...i dont really like the way it looks and i want to paint it wut was just wondering how i should go about doing that??? would it be easiest to take a really fine grit sand paper and sand off the chrome color and paint it or would it be easier to trry to find a grille thats not chrome or billet and buy it...ive been lookin for a few days now for a different grille and theyre all billet or chrome replacements...im not much of a chrome guy...any ideas would help...

Is it a 4x4 grille or a 4x2 grille?

Wanna trade me? LOL That was all I was getting at. I want the 4x4 grille so I can put in my billet grille and I have the 2WD grille.

Sandblast it with light pressure, then use a plastic adhesion promoter, then use a plastic primer, and paint the color of your choice...
