Good evening all. I replaced my tranny filter and fluid today.
So my question is this: how many quarts of Fluid do I put back in? Other forums say 7-8 quarts but when i put in 5 it seemed to full. Anyone who has done this know for sure how many.

My Transmission in total holds 9.9 quarts. but with a drain and fill how much fluid is lost? please let me know.

Get in the truck with the brake depressed run it through all the gears. Give it some load to run the fluid all thru the trans. get out and check the level
