2002 2.3 A/T problems

Help ! My transmission only shifts once or twice , and clunks ,like something broke .Reverse is okay but rough .

when was the last time you had the fluid with filter change? this must be done every thirty thousand miles or the filter gets to staturated with dirty fluid and creates problems.
