That's a good price. I was doing alot of searching a few weeks back and the best I could get (with some work discounts) was 10,550 (truck only price) on a manual 2.3 single cab XL with A/C. Walking into a local dealer, for the same truck, the best they would offer me was 14,500 out the door. If you haven't, sounds like you should take them up on the deal.

Eh, I dont want to sound like a jerk, but wouldnt a different color other than gold be better? unless u keep it waxed every 3-4 months like clockwork, itll lose its luster REALLY fast.
on topic: the prices of rangers are all over the place. some people around here paid like $16K for their lvl2's, whiles others, like L2en paid over 30K (with interest) I paid 17,500 for mine, and its just ur basic ext cab 4x4 with 4litre, and rubber floor, pwr doors and windows.
When you go in there, ask if you can get a retiree discount, alot of car salespeople, know old farts who are retired, and can possibly cut u a break on that. Also, smilitary people i think get $500 off... and if u graduated college in the last 6 months, or will in the next 6 months, thats another $500....
also, dont forget to add your sales tax to the price they give u, then, take that new number, multiply it by the interest rate their gonna shaft u on (unless its 0%) this will give u a smaller number, multiple that by the term of your loan, then, add that number to your truck cost. now you should end up with like $14-$15,000 (thats with the interest included) then divide that by 60 (5yrs) and that will give you ur monthly payment.
I tell you this so they dont try to screw u over with all their numbers. make sure YOUR numbers match what they are telling you its going to cost u. if it doesnt, if theirs is higher, somethings not right.
When we got my truck dad went over every little detail and questioned EVERYTHING and figured it all out himself, and then, and ONLY then did we proceed with the paper work.
Also, the day you walk in there, make sure u go online and see if there are any new incentives. we bought my truck for 18,500 - 3K in rebates, 4 days after we had my truck, the same dealer - different location called to say theres now 4K off on my ranger and it went into effect the wednesday BEFORE the sat i bought my truck. meaning I am entitled to an extra $1000 off, so we went back to the dealer, and rewrote my contract. shaved $30 off my payment.

I bought the same truck as you describe, 2.3/5spd/AC/XL in '06 for $10,990 plus tax, title, license. It was one of the trucks listed in the sunday newspaper and they had 3 at that price. I was happy because the sticker was $15K and I thought I was getting a deal.
Over this past Thanksgiving I was recommending the same dealer to a friend and saw the sale ad for an '07 Ranger (same base XL w/AC) for $8,988. I have the sale ad in a pdf file if you want it.
