05 Ranger Edge 4x4
I have a couple questions, this is my first ranger & I have owned it since it was new, it has about 60,000 miles now, O.K. The rear diff hums, it's the limited slip, I changed the lube about 18 months ago because I was sure it was going out & there was no wear dust or metal chips, it is tight & seemed fine, so I put new lube in & just ignor it, is this normal?
I also experience a hard shift in my transmission occasionaly, usually when I am soft pedaling on a flat surface about 50 MPH, it's the auto with O/D, is this normal or should I add the differentail conditioner to the trans, I had a 95 full size ford, it was recommended to add the conditioner to it to prevent having to rebuild, but it had to be added before the trans developed any problems.
And last I get a "ticking" up through the steering wheel, the CV joints are both fine, checked them myself, the wheel bearing aren't making any noise, differential seems to be fine, goes in and out of 4x4 perfect & there seems to be no particular time the ticking occures, just whenever, is this normal?
I appreciate any help, thanks
