Cooling fan

Hi, first of all I am new here, I have a 1992 Ranger which I have owned close to a year. Up until now it has been somewhat of a headache but the bugs are slowly getting worked out. I have no clue why someone would do this but I have reason to believe that everything from the dash forward has been replaced on my truck. I do remember my Bronco having a recall for the cruise relay causing fires so I am suspicious of this truck also having the problem however the title is clean so I don't know.

The one problem I have yet to be able to fix is the cooling fan blade. The stock blade is cracked around the blades pretty bad and I am worried it will come apart while driving. I have not been able to find a factory replacement for it and all the trucks in the junkyard had cracks as well. I got an aftermarket metal fan from Summit which fit great but hit the AC clutch so is not usable. A little info about the truck, it is like I said 1992, long bed, reg cab, 5spd 3.0V6 with PS and AC. Not sure of the trim, nothing special, XLT maybe? Crank down windows exc exc.

I have searched for a spacer for the fan but it mounts to the rear of the clutch so a fan spacer will just set it closer to the engine thus making the problem worse, what I need to do is space the entire clutch and fan "I think" about an inch further away from the engine, unless of course I can turn up a factory blade which all the local parts stores have told me is no longer available.

I am hoping the great people here can help me out with this problem, am I just over thinking things when I worry about it coming apart? Can they actually blow apart causing thousands in damages? Is it even possible to get this Summit fan to work? Another source for the factory plastic fan? Any help is greatly appreciated. I DID already try to swap it out for an electric fan but every time it would kick on it would pop the fuse, I could not figure out why but even when powering the fan direct from the battery it would still pop the fuse, A faulty fan perhaps?

Anyway thank you for any help you can give.

LMC Truck will have new ones, $30-$40 usually

Good site to bookmark for Ford truck parts

No, you don't want to use a spacer, if you only need a 1/4" or so you could remove the fan clutch then use a large washer(s) on the water pump side and then reinstall the fan clutch, should get enough threads to hold it tight.
But new fan blade would be best option
